A transparent look at the journey of building online income from scratch.
This section of Joel's Passive Income Talk will eventually become the place where I share monthly income reports, traffic updates, expenses, experiments, mistakes, lessons learned, and progress as I build real online income over time.
The goal is not to pretend everything happens overnight.
The goal is to show the process.
Income reports are a way to document the real journey behind building an online business. Instead of only showing polished success stories after the fact, this page will show the steps along the way—including the slow months, the experiments that worked, the things that failed, and the lessons learned from each stage.
I learned a lot about what great income reporting looks like by studying sites that did it well—particularly Smart Passive Income, Making Sense of Cents, and Entrepreneurs On Fire. Their transparency about real numbers, real expenses, and real timelines was eye-opening, and it's exactly the standard I want to hold myself to here.
The purpose is to create a public record of what it actually takes to grow a passive income website from the ground up.

This page is currently in progress. Once Joel's Passive Income Talk begins tracking meaningful income, this page will be updated with monthly reports showing what was earned, what was spent, what traffic looked like, and what changed behind the scenes.
At first, the numbers may be small.
That is part of the point.
Every successful online business starts somewhere, and this page will document the process from the beginning—not the polished highlight reel, but the actual day-to-day reality of building something real.
Some months will show growth. Some months will show setbacks. Both matter.
The goal is not to impress you with big numbers. The goal is to show you what building this actually looks like, step by step, from month one onward.
Each future income report will be designed to be simple, honest, and useful—with a consistent format every month.
A breakdown of how much the site earned during the month, including affiliate commissions, ad revenue, product sales, and other income streams.
A look at the tools, hosting, software, advertising, and other costs required to run and grow the site—no cherry-picking.
A clear view of what was left after expenses. This is the number that actually matters for building sustainable income.
A monthly snapshot of website visitors, pageviews, search traffic, and other important growth metrics from Google Analytics and Search Console.
A list of blog posts, guides, videos, lead magnets, or other assets created during the month—tracking output alongside results.
The most important takeaways from what worked, what failed, and what I would do differently. Often the most valuable part of the report.
The internet is full of screenshots, claims, and promises that make online income look easy. This page will take a different approach.
The income reports on Joel's Passive Income Talk will be written to help beginners understand the real process: building content, earning trust, creating helpful resources, testing monetization methods, and improving month by month.
Some months may show growth. Some months may show setbacks. Both matter.
Monthly income reports will be added here once they are available. Check back soon.
Joel's Passive Income Talk is being built around a simple idea: show the work, document the process, and turn the lessons into useful guides for beginners. This Income Reports page will become one of the main places where that journey is tracked.
